Merging
Three files that should have been one
The contract in one file, the attachment in another, the signature scan in a third. The recipient opens three attachments and orders them in their head.
Merge your filesThe result is one PDF
Merging looks like an operation without traps, and mostly it is. One thing can still spoil the result: the order. Files dropped in together line up the way the system sorted them, and that is usually alphabetical rather than what you had in mind.
Order is set before merging
The simplest way is to start the names with numbers — 1-contract, 2-attachment, 3-signature. Then any sort gives the same result, wherever you open them.
What does not change
Merging does not recalculate pages. Each page goes in as it was, at its own size and orientation. If one file was landscape, it stays landscape in the middle of the document.
The size of the result
The sum of the files is roughly the size of the result. The task limit is 100 MB and 50 files, and scans eat that limit far faster than text.
Facts about this tool
- Merges, splits, rotates and reorders pages, and deletes or extracts the ones you pick
- Runs the page tools entirely in your browser: those files are never uploaded
- Takes files up to 100 MB and up to 50 files in one task
This is one of the tools that runs in the browser: the files never leave your device, so there is nothing to upload and nothing deleted an hour later.
The commercial side
- Let you download the result without a subscription — running the tool is open to everyone, the download is not
- Offer a free plan — there is an intro week, then the monthly or annual price
